A Note from the Directors

Welcome all to the bottom of the ocean! We are so excited to be directing Anchorless Productions and the Friendship Foundation’s The Little Mermaid! Under the sea there lives a princess named Ariel, who, with her fish buddy Flounder, goes exploring. She wants nothing more than to be a human, above the waves, and to finally make some friends! She goes to the evil sea witch Ursula, who offers her a trade: her voice, for a pair of legs. Ariel accepts the trade, but in order to keep her legs, she must make a human friend within 3 days. There is resistance to her going above the waves, but she braves it all. What will she find up there? You’ll have to watch to find out! This show explores themes of identity, friendship and sacrifice, as Ariel tries to find herself through the trials she endures.

We’re so excited to start rehearsals with you all and to see each of our students and volunteers' talents in action! The catchy song and dance numbers mixed with the thrilling plot make for a great show. We hope you’ll join us as we go under the sea!

Meet the Directors

Annika Waters

Hi! I'm Annika Waters and I'm going into my junior year at Mira Costa High School! This will be my 3rd year being involved with Anchorless Productions, as I was a performance volunteer at Peter Pan, where I was buddies with Kalea, and I directed the SpongeBob musical last autumn with Sami! Outside of school, I love going on long walks, listening to music and reading anything I can get my hands on. I also swim often as I'm on the swim team at Costa. I am so excited to be directing The Little Mermaid with Eli as it has always been one of my favorite Disney productions and the soundtrack is amazing! See
you all soon!

Eli White

Hi! I'm Eli White, and this year I'm going to be a junior at Mira Costa High School. The Little Mermaid will be my third show with Anchorless Productions and I've been a performance volunteer for The Spongebob Musical and Tangled. I love music and all things music related and in my free time I enjoy record collecting, practicing guitar, and playing video games. I'm so excited to be directing The Little Mermaid with Annika and can't wait to see you guys at rehearsal!
