Mary Poppins Rehearsals
Mary Poppins rehearsals began on March 2 and have been running smoothly ever since! We kicked off rehearsals with fun theater games and cast bonding activities, but have now moved on to learning dances and scenes. We always begin rehearsal with warm-ups which is a nice way to get everyone focused and excited for that day’s rehearsal. Most Mondays we learn a dance, taught by our wonderful choreographer, Erica, before reviewing lines with our buddy groups or blocking a scene or two. On Wednesdays, we learn more scenes, review dances, or put everything together.
Everyone is always so focused and brings their all to every rehearsal. Everyone's passion for acting is extremely apparent, and the cast is so flexible and willing to adapt to anything. On top of that, every single person is unfailingly kind and helpful, and this cast is truly becoming a little Anchorless family. Getting to know this incredible group of people has been the best experience.
The cast has already grown and improved so much in such a short time, and I am so proud of each and every member. Every actor truly brings something special to this show and their character. Watching this show come to life has been so fun, and I am thrilled that I get to spend these next two months working with such a spectacular cast. This has already been an amazing experience that will forever hold a special place in my heart, and I am so excited to see how much more we are able to accomplish before our opening show on June 4!
